Hi Brogan,
17 with a provisional licence is not a problem but a 1975 car is a major problem.
Because of the year, that car would need to be insured under a classic car policy.
You will not be able to insure it as your primary vehicle.

i am 17 and hold a provisional license i am buying an old volkswagen beetle about a year 1975 and was wondering if you could give me an idea on what price insurance would be? i have been trying to find quotes and it is very hard to find one online. it would be great if you could help.

We have recently arranged cover for numerous unoccupied properties which are under renovation.
Insurers may require pictures of the property & a detailed description of the proposed renovation work.

I did a sample quote on our young driver car insurance policy based on a 17 year old student with a provisional licence living in Athlone & driving a 2001, 1 litre, VW Polo valued at €2000.

For ‘Third Party Fire & Theft’ cover the quote was coming out at €2650.

Unfortunately not. Only the policy holder will get the extension (if it is included on the policy).
